Podcast on A Letter From Paris, writing, and memoir

I loved talking with Rosemary Puddy from The Books Podcast about how I came to write two memoirs, a little of my writing background, and then the intense research project that was discovering dad’s life for A Letter From Paris, and all I learned about life in London and Paris — and particularly Melbourne, Australia — post WW2. I still find it hard to describe the cultural conservatism that littered dad’s diaries and his attitude towards ‘escaping’ Australia. It’s so difficult for us to fathom that closed container of ideas in a time when you can google whatever you want. In dad’s time, you had to physically travel to Europe to see an original Picasso painting.
