THE ART OF MEMOIR
Here’s a snapshot of what you receive inside the programme:

Time-sensitive goals, incentives & rewards
I know how important it is for a deadline to FEEL real so that we stay consistent in our practise. This is why you receive goal-setting and time-sensitive checkins and incentives, weekly email encouragement & a success survey on joining, and a 1:1 milestone call with Louisa when you reach your deadline within 6 months of joining!

Private Member Platform & Online Community [valued at $5000]
The programme is hosted inside a dedicated member platform (not facebook!), where you can ask questions and share insights as you work through the trainings and implement the material. Louisa is very ‘hands on’ inside the courses, so you can be sure if you have a question or insights to share, you’ll get a response.

TEMPLATES, GUIDES, CHECKLISTS, EXERCISES, CHEATSHEETS [value: $5000]
Need an example of a certain stage in the Hero’s Journey or a certain story archetype? There’s a guide for that. Want to write your focus sentence, your chapter breakdowns, or identify your midpoint reversal? There’s guides for those, too. Every step of the way, you have examples broken down for you and plug-and-play templates for the tough stuff (like the synopsis – no writer likes those!). I’ve broken down the principles of storytelling in detail, so you can master the structure, reach your deadline, and clarify all the little pieces of your story. The best thing? You can use these for years to come – they’re yours to keep!

INTRODUCTION TO THE ART OF MEMOIR [value: $1000]
Learn the framework that underpins this entire process and get a clear overview of what to expect and precisely how to succeed in this programme.

FOUNDATIONS FOR SUCCESS [value: $4000]
Clarity on the memoir genre – and what sells specifically in this category as well as your motivations for writing this manuscript – are crucial for success. In Foundations for Success you’ll learn the what, why, how, when and where of memoir. This module includes What is Memoir, the Why for your Memoir, Map Your Memoir, When & Where to Write, as well as important templates and checklists to use to set your deadline and set up a consistent writing practise.

JOURNALING FOR MEMOIR [value: $500]
Many memoir writers feel intimidated by the idea of writing a ‘book’, so this 30 day process will help you form a nourishing daily writing routine that has no big expectations except that you simply show up on the page each day. Some students have completed 50 000 words of their memoirs from this course alone!

90 DAY MEMOIR: YOUR HERO’S JOURNEY [value: $5000]
Even if you have a basic understanding of the Hero’s Journey, 90 Day Memoir goes deeper to uncover layers to your story you’ve never understood. The 12 stages are explored separately week by week in a video presentation with a comprehensive volume for you to keep, so you can use this process again and again… This course alone will show you how to write – and finish – a memoir that both transforms you and compels readers.

CHARACTERS AS ARCHETYPES IN MEMOIR [value: $1000]
One of the most powerful aspects of writing memoir with this process is seeing yourself as the hero of your own story, EVEN when you’re reluctant, you struggle, you are a human, after all. These archetypes trainings delve further into the meaning and symbolism of archetypes in story structure, and the patterns and forms in which they might appear, so you can pay close attention to the specific details that are going to make your narrative rich and relatable.

MEMOIR STORY STRUCTURE [value: $3000]
The chronology in which you reveal your story is crucial to a readable and page-turning narrative. These classes will deepen your understanding of how and why the Hero’s Journey mimics the path of growth, so you can apply it to your story. An overview of the 7 basic plots, and overviews of the 3 Act Structure and techniques to engage the reader throughout will anchor in your mastery of narrative nonfiction.

THE MESSY MIDDLE OF MEMOIR [value: $3000]
The simple truth is that most writers never become authors because they never make it past the middle of the writing process. This coaching framework will teach you a proven process to lead yourself through the messy middle of the creative process – so you can reach unchartered levels of personal success and fulfilment.

MANUSCRIPT FINISHING SCHOOL [value: $3000]
How do you ensure your draft is as good as you can get it before you start the submission process? Manuscript Finishing School walks you through Louisa’s six-stage process to revise your memoir as a professional editor. With clear video guidance, downloadable checklists and examples and a synopsis writing guide including a step-by-step template for you to follow, you’ll finish with a polished and revised draft and the skills to revise your own work as a professional.

COACHING CALL REPLAYS [value: $2000]
These 7 presentation and coaching replays include a year ahead visioning and reflection ritual, deep dives into elements of the memoir process and explorations of questions about structure, writing about real people, seeing yourself as the ‘hero’ and more. Recorded during live iterations of the programme, you get to learn from others’ questions and experiences writing and revising their memoir.

THE ART OF THE BOOK DEAL FOUNDATIONS [value: $500]
When you complete your memoir draft and want to go through the traditional book publication submission process, it’s important to get an overview of what goes into a traditional book deal for published nonfiction books. This 5-class training walks you through exactly what and how going for a traditional book publishing deal for memoir works, and how to shift from the writing process to the mindset for sales and pitching in the publishing world.

What’s the difference between The Art of Memoir & The Book Deal Accelerator?
The Art of Memoir has the express outcome of you writing and revising a book-length manuscript with all the tools and techniques of a professional author. The Book Deal Accelerator has the express outcome of you selling your work to publishers and agents and works for all types of nonfiction. The two programmes complement each other but if you have no manuscript or one that needs finishing, revising, restructuring, The Art of Memoir will teach you how to get it ready for your sales process. A first-time author cannot get a book deal for a memoir manuscript if you have not written any or all of the draft, or a very detailed book proposal, which involves an overarching view of the narrative. The Art of Memoir teaches you how to develop the narrative.
What’s the 1:1 call bonus?
Louisa has found that having someone to debrief and celebrate with when you reach your finished draft is crucial to maintaining momentum when you’ve reached your goal. You can also gain some fresh insights on ‘where to next?’ in your 1:1 call. This call IS dependent on you meeting a 6-month deadline for writing OR revising your draft and filling in your success form (you receive on enrolment!).
Are there any refunds or guarantees?
No results are guaranteed and like everything in life, all results are ultimately up to you! There are strictly no refunds because of the enormous amount of digital material and content you access upon sign-up, so please be mindful when you choose to enrol and come into the programme willing to do the work to succeed.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS
I engaged Louisa on a very complicated and technical book project. She not only delivered on the promised turnaround, she identified and noted a few issues that were beyond the scope of what I engaged her for. Issues that, once corrected, significantly improved the quality of the book. I’ve since engaged her for three further book projects. Thank you Louisa!
Kelly Exeter, CEO of Swish Publishing

HAPPY CLIENTS
Louisa Deasey is the real deal. She’ll save you time and offer solid lessons and inspiration in the memoir journey. The mindset techniques in her programs are fantastic, and I return to the lessons again and again. Writers would do well to chance upon your program sooner than later! I will never write a book again the way I did before, I’ll follow Louisa’s steps from the start…
Alice Lundy, writer
Louisa is one of those rare writers who is always researching and searching for a better way to do things… Louisa reviewed different assets for my writing course and her great eye for detail meant that she not only spotted gaps and inconsistencies, but also made lots of valuable suggestions for improvement.
Lindy Alexander, The Freelancer’s Year
I’m happy to report that I’ve completed my first draft!!! I’ve completed the 12 phases of the Hero’s Journey and the 30 day journaling which I LOVED!Using the Hero Journey’s framework has been eye-opening and revealing. Thank you!!Susana Frioni, speaker, writer & coach
Thank you for your encouragement, expertise and for pouring kerosene on my tiny aims. I finished my memoir in the first week, instead of the last week. Then, somehow, I reviewed all 20 chapters and reduced 1M+ words to a mere 285K. AND I have a hook, plot points outline/table, query and synopsis. I told my son how you changed my paradigm on what was possible and I will never forget it. Merci, Louisa!
Carolyn Barnabo, Writer
Thank you for your expertise. With other programs I’ve been a little left behind because I didn’t know the basics. I didn’t need to worry because you cover everything!
Kate Morell, Writer
Your course is such a gift. I’m learning so much about writing, story structure and most importantly about myself. I love the exploration of my story and am walking into further healing as I write. I have been inspired, stretched and challenged by your course. You truly are with us every step of the way – you’ve done an amazing job of making things clear for a newbie such as myself, I am being transformed from your hard work.
Kem Stickl, Writer
If i hadn’t rejigged a few of the chapters and thus, my chapter summaries, I don’t think the narrative would feel as cohesive as it feels now. And that’s all due to 90 Day Memoir! I’ve just received an email to say that my essay won the non-fiction category and will be published… thank you SO much for your feedback which helped me refine it.
